Dr. Cassini Chu obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from Brown University, followed by her Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Sociology from The University of Hong Kong.

Her main areas of research are gender, intimacies, sexualities and sex work. Her single-authored book, Compensated Dating: Buying and Selling Sex in Cyberspace, investigates the desires and relationships of adolescent girls and adult men who engage in compensated dating in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining the College of Professional and Continuing Education, Dr. Chu taught at The University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
