YK Chu received his PhD in Police Studies from the University of Exeter in the UK in 1997. He earned his second PhD in Religious Studies from the Sun Yat-sen University in China in 2016. He was an Assistant Professor and then an Honorary Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology of the University of Hong Kong, coordinating the Bachelor of Criminal Justice (part-time) programme and teaching a variety of criminology courses.
