Prof. Eric Wing Hong CHUI

Eric Chui is Professor and Head of the Department of Applied Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to this, he held lecturing positions in the Department of Social Work and Probation Studies at the University of Exeter, UK, in the School of Social Science at the University of Queensland, in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at The University of Hong Kong, and in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences at City University of Hong Kong. His areas of interest include youth studies, criminology and criminal justice, social work, and migration studies. He has published articles in Australian and New Zealand Journal of Criminology, British Journal of Criminology, Child Abuse & Neglect, Crime & Delinquency, European Journal of Criminology, Theoretical Criminology and International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology. Recently, he has co-authored two books, Responding to Youth Crime in Hong Kong (Routledge, 2014) and The Hong Kong Legal System (Cambridge University Press, 2020); and the former is now translated into Chinese – 給青少年犯事者一個機會:社會回應的演變 (City University of Hong Kong Press, 2018).
