Prof. Samson TSE
Samson Tse is the Professor in Mental Health, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Education) at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Director of the Master of Social Sciences in Counselling in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration, The University of Hong Kong. Prior to his relocation to Hong Kong, he has worked in New Zealand – Dunedin and Auckland− for over 20 years. Samson has had a long standing interest in supporting persons (e.g., migrants, international students) affected by gambling addiction and mental health issues by using recovery approach and strengths-based interventions. He has authored/ co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in the field of addiction and mental health. His publications appeared in the Addiction, Administration and Policy in Mental Health and Mental Health Services Research, Bipolar Disorders, International Journal of Social Psychiatry, Journal of Humanistic Psychology, Journal of Mental Health and Addiction, Journals of Gerontology: Psychological Sciences and Social Sciences, Psychiatry Research, and Psychiatric Services. Professor Tse has served in government, and non-government organization advisory committees in New Zealand (Mental Health Commission), Singapore (International Advisory Panel for the National Addictions Management Centre and the National Council on Problem Gambling) and Hong Kong (Mental Health Advisory Committee, Beat Drug Fund Research Committee).
